Activity
Based Costing (ABC)
Activity
Based Costing is an approach to cost
management that
links the consumption of resources to the activities a company
performs and then assigns these activities and their associated costs
to products and customers. Since first being introduced in the
1980's, many Activity Based Costing implementations have failed to
deliver a timely and cost effective solution. As a consequence Time
Driven Activity Based Costing
techniques have been developed to provide a simpler, more flexible
and sustainable way of implementing Activity
Based Costing concepts.
Time
Driven Activity Based Costing (TDABC) simplifies the ABC
approach by removing the need for employee surveys and interviews
that are prone to error, time consuming to undertake and expensive to
maintain. It needs only two parameters,
-
the cost of supplying resources to activities and
-
the time it takes to carry out activates.
In
order to do this Time Driven Activity Based Costing uses estimates
or calculations of how much time it takes to carry out an activity.
Time
Driven ABC has many advantages over conventional Activity Based
Costing and traditional cost
accounting
methods and it delivers many benefits. Use the following link
